About Colours

Pure Colours Digital Imaging has its origins back in the late 1970s, when principal, John Maclulich, invested in a Macintosh SE and an Apple LaserWriter, and began publishing and “desktop” printing from his kitchen table, then the lounge room, and later the spare bedroom.

By the mid-1980s, income from “desktop publishing” had grown enough to warrant a more professional company image, and by then John’s patient wife had decided that she wanted the lounge room back.

So, after a brief search in the “Office Space Available” columns of the Sydney Morning Herald, John and his hardware found a tiny studio in the city and he began commuting to and from work, for the first time ever.

Now more than three decades later, the company employs over a dozen people, has factory and office space of over 500 sqm and has built a reputation for fast, reliable turnaround and quality products in the short-run printing and publishing industry.

Colours has extensive pre-press services, from scanning and retouching, to graphic design and layout, editing and writing; film separations and digital proofing; through to manufacturing of the finished product, be it digital printing, wide-format banners or offset printed material – flyers, brochures, booklets, newsletters, books, in fact anything you can think of that involves images on substrates; including all manner of post-press services (from stapling to book-binding, to laminating and mounting, scoring, perfing, die-cutting, embossing, foiling or anything else) – all under the one roof.
